Flexenclosure, the global leader in environmentally friendly and energy efficient turn-key shelters for the telecom industry, will exhibit a full scale unit of its award winning E-site, a wind and solar powered telecom site solution, at the GSMA Mobile World Congress 2009 in Barcelona between the 16th - 19th of February.
In 2009 alone, telecom operators forecast a world-wide deployment of 120,000 base stations in off-grid areas (nonexistent or insufficient power grids), where the previous choice has been diesel driven units with huge environmental impact and logistical issues for fuelling.
The E-site is a robust and turn-key solution using solar panels and a special designed wind generator as its primary source, which reduces both CO2 emissions and operation costs by 80 % compared to a traditional diesel-powered mobile base station. By means of the control and monitoring system, DIRIFLEX®, it automatically shifts, in an optimal way, among the different power sources depending on weather conditions.
E-site was the winner of the 2008 GSMA's Mobile Innovation Global Awards in the category, Most Innovative Carrier Infrastructure, for the E-site.
The E-site solution will be presented at the outdoor Pavilion AV05.
