Flexenclosure continues rapid global expansion with new offices in Mexico and Myanmar
Stockholm, Sweden, 3rd August 2015
Flexenclosure, a designer and manufacturer of prefabricated data centre buildings and intelligent power management systems for the ICT industry, has opened a new office in Mexico to serve its growing number of customers in Latin America. Flexenclosure is also expanding its recently opened office in Myanmar, where it has already deployed over 1,000 eSite hybrid power systems for off-grid and bad-grid telecom cell sites.
Flexenclosure’s new office in Mexico will be located in the capital Mexico City and serve the entire Latin American region. The new office and the Latin American operations will be headed by Hugo Sanchez, Flexenclosure’s newly appointed Sales Director, Latin America.
Mr Sanchez has been working in the telecommunications industry for over 15 years, with a particular focus on physical infrastructure products and solutions and providing sales and technical support for customers across a wide variety of vertical markets. He has specialised in data centres since 2007, running the Mexico operation for The Siemon Company.
“There is significant growing demand for prefabricated data centres across Latin America, driven by an exponential increase in colocation and cloud service providers as well as the specific needs of regional and multinational companies,” said David King, CEO, Flexenclosure. “Having already established a strong presence in Africa and Asia, we see Latin America as the obvious next step in our continued global expansion with our eCentre data centre product.”
Flexenclosure is a fast growing supplier of advanced infrastructure for the information and communications technology industries. Its two key products are eSite, a hybrid power system for off-grid and bad-grid cell sites that delivers 100 per cent network uptime and diesel-related cost savings of up to 90 per cent; and eCentre, a custom-designed, prefabricated, state-of-the-art data centre building that is fast to deploy, energy efficient and easy to expand.
Over 1,000 hybrid power solutions deployed in Myanmar
Flexenclosure’s recently opened office in Myanmar’s capital Yangon, has expanded significantly as a result of the company’s involvement in transforming Myanmar – the globe’s largest remaining green-field market for cellular mobile networks – to a nation with world class modern mobile infrastructure. The Myanmar government has set a mobile phone penetration target of 75-80 per cent by March 2016, up from only ten per cent in 2013.
Flexenclosure has already deployed over 1,000 eSites in Myanmar and this number will rise in the coming months as the rollout continues. To support this deployment, Flexenclosure’s Yangon office has expanded to include the following functional departments: Customer Service, Project Management, Installation, Field Engineering, Sales, Administration as well as a dedicated Quality Manager – 18 people in total, and with a further Services portfolio and organisation expansion planned. Flexenclosure also employs 40 fully trained and certified subcontractors who do much of the onsite work.
Flexenclosure’s country manager in Myanmar is Ravin Vickneswaran – an ICT industry veteran with experience working for a tier 1 operator and international vendors, running major regional rollouts, next generation broadband and IT platform deployments.
”Myanmar is the last frontier in the Asia Pacific region for new mobile network and IT infrastructure deployment,” states David King, Flexenclosure. ”We consider Myanmar to be of key strategic importance and are expanding our operations there into a hub not only for our in-country projects but as a platform for our broader expansion across Asia Pacific.”
The increasing global market for prefabricated modular data centres, as well as strengthening demand for energy efficient and green power solutions amongst the world’s mobile operators and towercos, have steadily fuelled Flexenclosure’s global growth. Headquartered and with its manufacturing plant in Sweden, the company now has offices in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe and the Middle East.
