Flexenclosure opens Asia-Pacific office
10 December 2012
Flexenclosure today announced the opening of a new office in the Malaysian ICT hub of Cyberjaya just south of the capital Kuala Lumpur. The new office will serve the Asia-Pacific region and is fast-growing Flexenclosure’s fifth new office in 2012, after Gurgaon, India, Lagos, Nigeria, Islamabad, Pakistan, and Dubai, UAE.
The new Malaysian office will cover the Asia-Pacific region, the largest telecom market in the world. There are hundreds of thousands of base station sites in the region without a reliable grid connection. With an ever-growing telecom market the Next Billion mobile phone users are mainly coming from rural markets, where Flexenclosure’s energy saving solutions will be required to ensure cost effective services to these users.
“Even if the grid has relatively good coverage in many countries, grid reliability poses big challenges,” said David King, CEO, Flexenclosure. “Many grid-connected base station sites suffer from regular power outages and this is where the extremely energy efficient and highly reliable eSite Core comes into play, with its ability to efficiently power telecom sites using whatever grid power is available, batteries for energy storage and a genset only for backup.”
Green solutions for lower operating expenses
Flexenclosure has made great inroads in Africa and Asia with its award-winning power management solution eSite and its energy efficient modular data centre eCentre. Driven by the need for reliable, energy efficient and green solutions to power base stations, Flexenclosure’s eSite has become sought after by global mobile operators looking for green solutions to lower their operating expenses and reduce their dependency on diesel fuel to power base stations.
eSite is a power solution for off-grid and unreliable grid base station sites that cuts diesel-related costs by up to 90 percent. Powered by renewable energy sources or the grid and a backup genset, eSite can deliver a 90 percent reduction in diesel fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, and energy related OPEX compared to traditional diesel based systems.
eCentre is a complete, pre-fabricated, modular solution to house and power data and telecom equipment. Optimised for energy efficiency and low total cost of ownership, eCentre is specifically designed to be fast to deploy and fully future proof.

“Asia-Pacific is a very important region for us considering the size, growth and characteristics of the market. We are proud that Flexenclosure now has the ability to locally assist mobile operators with energy efficient power solutions for unreliable as well as off-grid sites. Having opened five new offices this year, this is the final piece of the puzzle, firmly establishing Flexenclosure’s global presence firmly established,” concludes Mr. King.
